Reflections on Lessons Learned.

Basically, although this week lecture class was rather short and simple due to the reason that there was not much thing that could be elaborated regarding the topic on ' Exploration on Analogy Metaphor ', but we enjoyed doing the task which was given by Mr. Radzi Bedu to be completed during the class hours. This task includes the fact that we have to pair up two words into a singular noun, producing a new word from the two words and producing a drawing from our own imiginition regarding the words that we created earlier. Aside from that, Mr. Radzi Bedu also delivered a short lecture to us regarding ' Juxtaposition '. Although at first it was rather a difficult topic to understand, but in my opinion it is a good topic to be discussed since not all of us really know what ' Juxtaposition ' is really all about. This includes the statement that, ' Juxtaposition ' is actually a placing of words side by side towards one another transferring their meaning from something that is meaningful and familiar to something that is uncommon phrase to us all. In the same boat, another thing that was been discussed include the true meaning of the terms ' metaphor ' and ' simile ' which are quiet easy to understand since we have learned them during our English grammar lesson. Therefore, as a conclusion we can then categorized ' Juxtaposition ' into two minor categories of analogy which is the ' logical analogy ' and the ' affective analogy '. The ' logical analogy ' can be best described as an analogy which uses similarities in design, structure as well as function in order to connect back with the subject while ' affective analogies ' can be defined as an emotional resemblance analogy.

In Class Exercise.

Generally, for this week class exercise, we were all given three tasks to be completed before the day ends. Although at first, we did not really get the whole picture of what the exercise is all about actually but in the end after doing the three separate tasks, we finally understand that the exercise is not any ordinary exercise which is just for fun. Instead, this exercise actually helps us to think more creatively in order to produce something new based on our thoughts. Although it was a tough exercise in my opinion, since we have to come out with sketches of a drawing of something new from just a word or two, but we really enjoyed doing it and we hope we will have more chances of doing this kind of exercises in the near future. Listed below are the steps that we have to follow in order to complete this week class exercise task :-
  • Copy all the words which are projected on the slide and divide them into 2 different columns.
  • Put a number from 0 - 9 to each of the words given.
  • Think of 3 sets of numbers ranging from 00 to 99.
  • Pair each of the words in the column accordingly to the number that we have chose.
  • Produce a sentence based on the words which we have paired earlier.
  • Visualize the sentence into our own drawing.
  • Make the words that we have paired up them with to become as a single word.
  • Draw something new according to the new word.

Developing a Poem.

Another exercise which we have done during this week Creative Studies lecture was that we have to come out with one romantic poem which is dedicated especially to our loved one which in my case is my girlfriend. However, first of all in order for us to write the poem we must use the word which was given by the Mr. Radzi, and the word that he gave to us for this particular exercise was ' chili '. Therefore, as a result I then finally came out with the poem written below :-

Hey hottie, I love you forever,
Ever since I met you, my entire life changed,
You gave me satisfaction of my life,
When you become the spice of my tongue,
You are hot enough to warmth us both,
Which at the same time melt other heart when they look at your true beauty,
You are tasteful, although you are spicy,
Giving us both a lively strength to lead our daily life,
Your passion and color is very energizing,
Thus making me to love your more and more,
Day by day without feeling bored or tired thinking about you.
